Lighthouse Keepers Quarters 2009 Art Exhibit Schedule

The Sandy Hook Foundation is pleased to present the following exhibits at the Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters on Sandy Hook. The Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters is currently open daily from 1 – 5pm.

June
Judy Stach and Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast
A life-long resident of Monmouth County, who currently calls both Florida and New Jersey home, Judy Stach focuses on oil paintings of landscapes and seascapes. She loves painting small works in the open air, also known as plein air studies, often combining these with photo references to complete a larger painting in her studio.

July
Bob Hillman Photography
Bob Hillmann lives in Atlantic Highlands with his wife and 3 sons. He has worked for the federal government for 14 years, and for the past 11 years he has been employed as a carpenter with the National Park Service on Sandy Hook. While in the army stationed in Hawaii, Bob’s interest in photography developed, and Sandy Hook seemed like the perfect placed to continue his love of photography. Come see his beautiful work.

August
Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast

With over 75 members, the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast enjoy painting on location. Whether working on gloriously perfect days, under balconies on soggy days, in the snow in winter, at the waterfront in the teeming rain, or on hazy, hot, and humid summer days, these artists are determined to pursue their love of painting en plein air, using our beautiful beaches, rivers, parks, farms, and forests as subjects for their paintings.

September
Laury Eagan’s Photography students

Laury Egan grew up in Atlantic Highlands and Rumson, NJ. Her initial art instruction was from her mother, Agnes Ricks Egan, one of the first members of the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury and a notable national painter. As an instructor, Laury has taught composition courses and offered portfolio reviews at Brookdale Community College and the Guild of Creative Art. She has also taught several location workshops such as a two-week course in Venice, Italy. Laury has been included in Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in American Art and currently is first vice president on the Executive Board of the Guild of Creative Art. Everyone will enjoy seeing her students’ creative work.
